Wednesday continues to be a busy day for local firefighters with another vegetation fire breaking out Wednesday night in Folsom.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Folsom fire was dispatched to the area of East Bidwell Street and Blue Ravine Road for a reported vegetation fire. The fire was located behind a strip mall in an area with brush and grass.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported the fire was about two acres in size with a slow rate of spread in what they described as dry “flashy” fuel and mixed brush. Fire crews were accessing the active fire off of Creekside Drive near the bike trails
A total of eight engines were on scene of the fire as of 9:20 p.m. including those that were requested for additional assistance by units on scene. By 9:22 p.m. the forward progress of the rod has reportedly been stopped.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time as it remains an active incident.
