Sacramento County will conduct a test of its Sacramento Alert System on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at 10:17 a.m. The test is part of the county’s effort to ensure residents are prepared to receive emergency notifications during critical situations, such as evacuations during fires.

Sacramento Alert, built on the Smart911® platform, serves as a vital communication tool to inform residents of imminent hazards and provide instructions on how to stay safe. The system is used by the county and its city partners to send mass notifications in emergencies.

Residents who have signed up for Sacramento Alert will receive a message via email, text, or phone call notifying them that the message is a test and no immediate action is required.

Area residents can sign up for emergency alerts at https://www.folsom.ca.us/government/police/connect-with-us/sign-up-for-emergency-alerts.
