According to local school officials as well as law enforcement, the recent threats are being deemed to be non-credible.
“We are aware of a nationwide social media trend referencing potential violence at schools that had become a local concern for schools in the Sacramento region,” said a statement released by Angela Griffin Ankhelyi, Chief Communications & Community Engagement Officer for the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District.
“No credible safety risk has been identified for any FCUSD school or any school in the Sacramento region, the statement emphasized. “Many local school districts are letting their communities be aware as are we. FCUSD and our law enforcement partners take all threats of violence seriously and continue to monitor this situation. The safety of our students, staff and community is our top priority.”
The district did not share the nature of the content of the threats of concern. While the district cites the newest online threats are not a concern, they do stress if anyone sees anything concerning, online or near a school facility, to report it.
“We remind everyone that if you see something, say something and encourage all to report any concerns to staff or on WeTip,” the statement concludes.

Out of an abundance of caution the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office will remain vigilant, monitor this social media post and communicate with the community educators.
