The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary will welcome military children for a special event on Thursday, Aug. 1 designed to give military families a unique experience thanks to generosity of the Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms in collaboration with the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary and a number of generous donors.
The special event promises a day of educational fun. Over 40 military children and their parents will explore the zoo with the help of dedicated docents. Participants will enjoy biofact tables, learn interesting animal facts, meet various hoofed animals, and have the chance to interact with some of the zoo’s residents.
All the animals at the Zoo Sanctuary are rescue animals, having been saved from the wild or from previous homes where they could no longer be cared for.
This event is made possible through the support of Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms, Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary, VRW Post 6604, Marine Corps League Detachment 940, KW Folsom, Hands On Travel, and Firehouse Subs Sandwiches.
Rolling Hills Blue Star Moms Chapter 27 is based in Folsom, California. The organization is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-racial, and non-profit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to supporting military families. It serves communities including Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and surrounding areas.
The chapter supports both Gold Star Families, who have lost loved ones in military conflicts, and Silver Star Families, those who have returned wounded. Its mission emphasizes patriotic support and aims to raise community awareness of the sacrifices made by members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
