On tournament day, registration begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start set for 8:15 a.m. Participants will take on various challenges, including a hole-in-one contest, and enjoy both breakfast and lunch throughout the day. The tournament wraps up with an awards ceremony to recognize standout performances. “The Charity Golf Tournament is more than just a fundraising event; it’s a celebration of our community’s commitment to education and history,” said Greg Jung, board chair of Folsom History. “The proceeds will directly support our general operations, including educational programs, allowing us to continue offering meaningful experiences to students.”
Ajay Sharma, the tournament’s committee chair also emphasized the important role the tournament will play in benefitting Folsom History this “This event is a crucial part of our strategy to enhance and expand our educational initiatives. Attendees not only enjoy a great day of golf but also contribute to the enrichment of our local community. Their support ensures that our programs remain accessible and impactful.”
Dr. Rita Hoffstadt, executive director of Folsom History, shared her excitement. “We’re driving for a hole-in-one when it comes to supporting our educational initiatives! Join us on the green, where every swing contributes to a brighter future for our community,” Hoffstadt said.
The event’s success is made possible through the support of key sponsors. This year’s Platinum Sponsor is Cummings Properties, with Exceed Insurance and Veterinary Medical Center serving as Gold Sponsors. Opulence Solutions joins the roster as a Silver Sponsor.

Folsom History connects the community to its innovative roots through exhibits, digital engagement, educational programs, and hands-on learning experiences. The organization currently operates two museums — the Folsom History Museum and the Pioneer Village Living History Site — with a third, the Chinese Heritage Museum, under construction.
Folsom History’s collections highlight the area’s unique role in California’s past, featuring artifacts, photographs, textiles, and documents representing Native American culture, the Gold Rush, and the lives of Folsom residents through the years.
During the 2023-2024 school year, the organization served more than 1,000 students, offering free programs to Title I schools. Its proximity to the Sacramento RT Light Rail station ensures accessibility for students from underserved communities, many of whom lack the resources for traditional field trips.
The organization also launched a high school volunteer program in the summer of 2023. Since its inception, 25 student volunteers have contributed more than 1,250 hours, assisting with tasks such as digitizing archives, leading tours, and organizing maker activities. The program equips students with valuable job skills and leadership experience to support their academic and career goals.
