The Folsom Historic District’s Summer Twilight Concert Series is off and running. This Thursday evening will mark the second of 13 weeks of live music to take place in the Zittel Family Amphitheatre in the heart of the Historic District with a local entertainer just returning from a big week in Nashvhille. Cynthia Renee and her band are set to take the stage.

Renee is a returning favorite to the stage she calls home as this marks her third straight year of being invited to perform in the popular series.  Thursday’s show is the first local performance for Renee after her return from a week long stint back in Nashville last week, where she appeared at the sold out CMA Fest in Nashville along with some of Country Music’s biggest names and rising stars. In addition to the annual CMA fest that takes over music city for several days, Renee returned to the recording studio with her label SSM Nashville/Twelve Seventeen records to continue working on her upcoming album.

In addition to her work in Nashville, Renee has performed at several high profile events across the region, including KNCI Radio’s Country in the Park which hosted other country artists such as Lady A and Maddie and Tae. Last summer, she opened for multi-platinum selling artist Uncle Kracker in Santa Barbara, as well as Broken Bow Records Artist Chase Bryant in Reno.

Renee has also performed at The Harris Center for the Arts twice in the past year, numerous casino and entertainment venues, the California State Fair, El Dorado County Fair, San Joaquin County Fair, Gold Country Fair. Earlier this year she was one of 10 singer-songwriters selected nationally to perform in the “New York Encounter” showcase at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City this coming weekend.

“This past year I have done a great deal of traveling to record and different shows,” said Renee, who has been a resident of Folsom for much of her adult life. “It’s always exciting to play back close to home and this is such a great opportunity to play at the beautiful venue in Historic Folsom. I hope to see all our local fans come out, it should be a perfect night.” Renee will continue a series of local performances following Thursday night, performing at the El Dorado County Fair Sunday and at Willamette Wineworks back in Historic Folsom for Wine Wednesday next Wednesday night.

Renee will be performing a number of her originals, including her most recent Nashville produced radio release, “Good on Me,” which is currently among the top 100 in the Music Row Country Music Charts, other songs on their set list will undoubtedly include her first radio release, Working on a Hangover,” as well as collection of other originals and a variety of many rocking country hits everyone loves.

During Thursday’s show, Renee will debut one of her newest songs for the first time on the Folsom stage, “Have a Heart for a Hero.” The locally inspired song is an energetic tribute to first responders, veterans and front line workers that put their life on the line for others.

The daughter of a returned deputy sheriff who served the county and an ambassador for the locally based Hearts4Heroes USA organization, the song is very special to Renee and has already touched many who have heard it performed elsewhere and on streaming platforms. Renee is hoping some of the area’s first responders and veterans will come out for Thursday’s show.

The 2024 music series presented by Historic Folsom and Willamette Wineworks with a number of supporting sponsors that make it all possible. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues for two hours. An early arrival to the amphitheater is suggested to reserve a spot, guests are urged to bring low-backed chairs that sit close to the ground or picnic blankets. The concert is free for all ages.  For additional information on the concert series visit www.historicfolsom.org.
