Red Hawk Resort Casino continues its live music series this weekend with two different genres of entertainment over two nights at the casino’s popular stage bar. Friday night features the return of Nashville Music Row artist Cynthia Renee, followed by Michael Furlong and his classic rock band on Saturday.

On Friday night, the entertainment kicks off at 8 p.m. with Renee and her four talented band members will be performing on the Red Hawk Resort Casino’s stage bar. Renee is a singer-songwriter now with Twelve-Seventeen/SSM Nashville Records. Renee and her band members are known for their extensive catalog of modern and popular country songs, as well as her originals that include  “Working on a Hangover,” and “Good on Me,” which  are amongst radio play as well as music video syndication across the country.

Renee and her band have performed at KNCI Radio’s Country in the Park alongside other country artists such as Lady A and Maddie and Tae. This past summer, they opened for multi-platinum selling artist Uncle Kracker in Santa Barbara, as well as Broken Bow Records Artist Chase Bryant in Reno.  The band has been busy this week with multiple appearances at the California State Fair as well as being selected to be part of the upcoming Nashville Night singer-songwriter showcase at the Folsom Hotel this Saturday.

Renee has also performed locally at Folsom’s Harris Center for the Arts, numerous casino and entertainment venues including El Dorado County Fair, San Joaquin County Fair, Gold Country Fair and others this past year. Renee recently returned from the East Coast where she was one of 10 singer-songwriters selected nationally to perform in the “New York Encounter” showcase at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Renee performs from 8 p.m. until midnight on Friday.

On Saturday, the music begins a bit later at 10 p.m. with Furlong taking to the Red Hawk stage.

Furlong, backed by his band, which he considers to be the best line-up of talent he’s had to date, has a large catalog of hit songs and fan favorites that they perform. The band consists of Michael Furlong, guitar/vocals, Glenn Hicks, drums/vocals, Paul Zogby, guitar/vocals, Tom Robbins, bass guitar/vocals, and Steve Hatley, keyboards/vocals. All of the band members have quite extensive career credits to their names with a long history of professional national touring, recording and performing experience. Their extensive repertoire enables them to produce several completely different shows throughout an evening’s performance. With rocking oldies, signature ballads and current hits like “Breakdown,” “Free Fallin’,” “Refugee,” “American Girl,” ‘Don’t Do Me Like That,” “I Need To Know,” and “Here Comes My Girl,” he delivers a memorable performance of good music and fun in every show.

Furlong is based out of Carson City, Nevada where grew up and started his performing career. While performing on the road with a group in Vancouver, BC in 1990, he plotted this new course to a successful music career with his Tribute To Tom Petty. This lead him to performances in venues such as The California State Fair virtually every Reno-Tahoe Casino, most noteworthy casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, Indian and Riverboat Casinos nationally, Hard Rock Café Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Japan, Guam, fairs, festivals, and corporate parties throughout the entire United States, and British Columbia and Nova Scotia, Canada. Furlong performs from 10 p.m. until 2 am. on Saturday at Red Hawk.
