Expanding on its already popular Saturday music series, Willamette Wineworks is bringing more live music to its Historic Folsom destination beginning this week with a brand new midweek series bannered as “Why Wait Wednesday’s,” encouraging people to come out and an enjoy an early evening of entertainment before the weekend is even on their mind. It all begins this Wednesday, June 19 with longtime Folsom resident and Nashville recording artist Cynthia Renee performing with Rocklin guitarist Aaron Geoffrey from 6 until 8 p.m.
Wednesday’s Willamette appearance comes in the wake of Renee’s appearance at the Historic Folsom Amphitheater just last Thursday where she packed the venue from dusk into nightfall with an high energy performance with her full band. Wednesday’s event will be Renee’s acoustic act as she is joined by the talents of Geoffrey, who is also a longtime member of her full band and will shift gears from his usual role of electric guitar to acoustic for the Willamette midweek billing.
As mentioned during her recent amphitheater performance, Renee just returned home from Nashville two weeks ago, where she appeared at the sold out CMA Fest in Nashville along with some of Country Music’s biggest names and rising stars. In addition to the annual CMA fest that takes over music city for several days, Renee returned to the recording studio with her label SSM Nashville/Twelve Seventeen records to continue working on her upcoming album.
In addition to her work in Nashville, Renee has performed at several high profile events across the region, including KNCI Radio’s Country in the Park which hosted other country artists such as Lady A and Maddie and Tae. Last summer, she opened for multi-platinum selling artist Uncle Kracker in Santa Barbara, as well as Broken Bow Records Artist Chase Bryant in Reno.
Renee has also performed at The Harris Center for the Arts twice in the past year, numerous casino and entertainment venues, the California State Fair, El Dorado County Fair, San Joaquin County Fair, Gold Country Fair. Earlier this year she was one of 10 singer-songwriters selected nationally to perform in the “New York Encounter” showcase at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
Renee and Geoffrey will perform a number of her originals Wednesday, including her most recent Nashville produced radio release, “Good on Me,” which is currently among the top 100 in the Music Row Country Music Charts, other songs on their set list will undoubtedly include her first radio release, Working on a Hangover,” as well as collection of other originals and a variety of covers that everyone loves.
