When the temperatures climb into the triple digits during the day and the evenings remain extra warm taking an evening swim or going to the movies is a popular activity. This Saturday night,Aug. 3, families can do both for free as the City of Folsom is hosting a family swim and movie night and its all free.

Taking place at Folsom’s Steve Miklos Aquatic Center Saturday, guests will be able to cool off before the movie from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with free access to the pools, diving boards, water slide, and play structures.

The outdoor screening of “Elemental” begins just as it turns dark, which will be 8:30 p.m. According to the Folsom Parks and Recreation Department, guests can bring their own picnic and blankets along with lawn chairs to spread out on the lawn for movie viewing. The city does ask that no glass containers are brought.

Chick Fil A and Cia di Gelateria will be on hand for food and dessert purchase for the event . This free family event is made possible with the generous community partner and sponsorship support that helps the Folsom Parks and Recreation put the event on.
