At its Wednesday meeting, the Folsom Police Foundation voted to support Folsom’s Measure G on the November ballot. When passed, Measure G will provide critical funding to enhance public safety, reduce crime, and provide essential resources to enhance public safety in Folsom.

“As the Folsom Police Foundation, we believe supporting Measure G is essential to ensuring our police officers have the resources they need to keep our community safe. By backing this measure, we are investing in the safety and security of every Folsom resident,” said Adrian Blanco, Board Chair for the Folsom Police Foundation. Adrian Blanco, the owner of Adrian Blanco Jewelry in Folsom, is Chair of the Foundation’s 11-member Board of Directors.

The Folsom Police Foundation joins the Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522, District Attorney Thien Ho, the Folsom Police Middle Management Association, and numerous police chiefs, fire chiefs, and law enforcement and firefighters to endorse Measure G. Measure G will appear on Folsom voters’ ballots, which arrive next week.

Funding public safety in Folsom is critical to ensure Folsom remains a safe community. “The safety of our community is the highest priority. We thank the Folsom Police Foundation for their support of Measure G. Ensuring that Folsom has the resources to fund additional police officers and firefighters will help the community enjoy excellent response times, adequately equip police officers and firefighters, and provide high-quality police and fire coverage throughout the entire Folsom community,” said Dan Carson, Folsom firefighter with Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522.

The Foundation cites that Measure G is a critical revenue measure to help fund essential services such as:

Public safety (police, fire, and emergency services)

Crime reduction programs

Wildfire prevention

Traffic improvements to relieve congestion

Parks, recreation facilities, and trail renovation and maintenance

Economic development to create new jobs and revenue

Upgrades and maintenance to the stormwater system to prevent flooding

Long-term capital projects for essential infrastructure

The Folsom Police Foundation is focused on activities to support the Folsom police officers, including resources for the K9 and Mounted Patrol Units, scholarships for local high school students to support positive community interactions with police officers, and programs to enhance the police department’s level of service in Folsom.
