As a retired chief deputy with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, former Lincoln police chief and Folsom resident, I have spent my career understanding the critical need for adequate public safety in our communities. In Folsom, we have long prided ourselves on being a safe place to live, raise a family, and operate a business. However, the reality is that we cannot expect to maintain high-quality public safety services without providing the necessary resources.

It is simply unrealistic to assume that we can pay less than surrounding cities and still expect the same or higher level of service. Our public safety personnel have millions in unmet needs to keep our community safe, yet they continue to serve with dedication. Without proper funding, it becomes increasingly difficult to attract and retain the high-caliber individuals we need to keep Folsom safe.

That is why I, along with many other current and former public safety leaders and professionals, including the Folsom Police Middle Management Association, support Measure G. This measure provides the critical funding needed for police and fire services, ensuring that our officers have the tools, training, and resources required to effectively protect our community. It will also allow us to maintain the high standards of public safety that Folsom residents have come to expect. With the required nine-member Citizens’ Oversight Committee, there will be accountability and transparency.

Supporting this measure is about more than just funding police and fire services – it is about safeguarding the quality of life we cherish here in Folsom. It ensures that our families, businesses, and visitors can enjoy a safe environment while benefiting from the city’s many amenities.I encourage all residents to vote YES on Measure G to keep Folsom safe and thriving. –
