No Reason to Cry, Grooveline, CarTunes, Adam Aldama, Val Starr all perform

Folsom’s Powerhouse Pub, is amped up and ready to go for another full weekend of live entertainment ahead as five different talented bands from the region take the stage at the iconic live music venue in the heart of the city’s historic district from Friday through Sunday afternoon.  

The entertaining weekend begins at  7 p.m. on Friday with No Reason To Cry, an Eric Clapton tribute band. Fronted by Sacramento’s own Kenny Manlapig on guitar and lead vocals, the band is dedicated to providing a live musical performance that stays true to the spirit and sound of the legendary Eric Clapton. The band touches on all stages of Clapton’s illustrious career, performing classics from his time with the Yardbirds, The Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos, and his solo work.

Later Friday evening, at 10 p.m., Grooveline takes the stage. This band specializes in funk, soul, and R&B, ensuring a high-energy night with their rhythmic beats and soulful vocals. Grooveline is well-known in the area for getting the crowd moving with their blend of classic and contemporary tunes.

On Saturday, the entertainment continues with CarTunes at 3 p.m. This band delivers a mix of rock, pop, and country covers, making them a versatile act that appeals to a wide audience. CarTunes is known for their engaging performances and ability to connect with the crowd, making them a favorite at local venues.

At 10 p.m on Saturday,  Adam Aldama & The Aces will headline the evening. This band brings a dynamic mix of funk, pop, and R&B, combining tight musicianship with infectious grooves. Their energetic stage presence and top-notch musical talent have made them a must-see act in Northern California’s music scene.

Closing out the weekend on Sunday is Val Starr and the Blues Rocket, who will perform at 3 p.m. Val Starr, a seasoned blues vocalist and songwriter, leads the band with her powerful voice and commanding stage presence. The Blues Rocket is celebrated for their authentic blues sound, blending traditional blues with modern influences to create a unique and captivating experience.
