Throughout late June and early July, Detectives with the Folsom Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) followed up on leads regarding the sale of illegal narcotics within The City of Folsom, and Sacramento County.

Tuesday afternoon, Gabrial Carter, 25 of Sacramento, agreed to meet with Detectives to sell drugs, according to a press release from the Folsom Police Department.

During a search of Carter’s residence, Detectives recovered just under two pounds of cocaine, approximately 4,000 Alprazolam pills, MDMA, narcotic sales packaging material, $50,000 cash and a loaded handgun.

Carter was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for multiple felony narcotics and firearms related charges.

“Our SIU Detectives are committed to keeping the Folsom community safe from narcotics and the inherent dangers associated with drug sales,” the department said in a statement. “If you believe there is illegal drug activity in your neighborhood and would like to provide that information to us, please submit your tips on our tip line at (916) 930-1098.”
