The Folsom Police Department along with the Folsom Police Officers' Association fixed Santa's sleigh just in time for Christmas this year! We want to tell you the amazing story of how it all came about and also to thank all those that donated time and money to help keep this tradition going!
Not too long ago, on last Christmas Eve,
With presents packed up, I was ready to leave.
My reindeer arranged in a flying formation,
Mrs. Claus waved goodbye for my one-night vacation.
I delivered each gift, stacked them under each tree.
The children would wake and be so filled with glee.
My job was all done, I could rest for the night.
Settled down in my sleigh for the long return flight.
But leaving the very last house on the street.
My sleigh started wobbling, shaking my seat.
It started malfunctioning, oh what a fright!
Last thing that I needed on Christmas Eve night!
It slammed to the ground with a hearty KER-THUNK
My sleigh! Broken down!? My heart nearly sunk.
How could I get home? The options were bleak,
Then a person emerged and he started to speak:
“Welcome to Folsom! An awesome location!
You’ve landed your sleigh at Natoma Street Station.”
The officer looked at my sleigh with distress,
He scratched at his head and he surveyed the mess.
“Let me call on my team and our great volunteers.
They will fix up your sleigh Santa, no need to fear.”
They rushed to the station and helped me on my way,
They hammered, they nailed, and they fixed up my sleigh.
With a nod to their captain, I yelled out a cheer,
I jumped in my sleigh and flew off with my deer.
“Thank you, dear Folsom!” I hollered, “So clever!
Your town will remain on my nice list forever!
Their faces all shone as I sped out of sight
